Foundation Grant Provides iPads for Covid-19 Family Virtual Visits Wednesday, May 06, 2020 We all know how difficult it is for patients to be separated from their family and friends by the “no-visitor” policies adopted by hospitals to protect patients and staff against the transmission of COVID-19. Thanks to the generosity of donors, The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital is providing funding for iPads that will enable BJC HealthCare patients to stay connected virtually. The Office of Patient Experience who applied for the grant, sought funding for enough iPads so that all individuals admitted to inpatient areas throughout the BJC system could have accessible, virtual family visits. The office said the iPad technology is crucial to combat social isolation and promote patient healing through connection with their loved ones.
