Visionary Donors Create a New Era for Head and Neck Cancer

The Robert Ebert and Greg Stubblefield Head and Neck Tumor Center will be located on the fifth floor of Siteman’s new state-of-the-art cancer building.

Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is at the forefront of cancer prevention and transformative cancer care through scientific discovery. Long recognized as a leader in head and neck tumor surgery and reconstruction, radiation oncology, medical oncology, and other related specialties, Siteman has formally established the Head and Neck Tumor Center, a leading-edge multidisciplinary approach to cancerous and benign tumors of the head and neck.

Philanthropic investment from donors through The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital has been critical to building a robust, multi-disciplinary center that provides world-class head and neck tumor care to patients throughout our region, across the country, and beyond.

At the Foundation’s Illumination Gala on June 1, we were proud to announce the official name of this new center: The Robert Ebert and Greg Stubblefield Head and Neck Tumor Center. Named in honor of two courageous head and neck cancer patients, Robert Ebert and Greg Stubblefield, the center will open inside Siteman’s new state-of-the-art cancer building this fall.

The Foundation expresses its immense gratitude to Joe Koenig, a head and neck cancer survivor who spearheaded this initiative along with members of the Head and Neck physician team. We are deeply grateful to the generous donors who rallied together to support the naming of the new center. In the coming year, we look forward to sharing much more about this new center and the generosity fueling its development.

With this initial phase of philanthropic investment complete, we are now inviting additional support to help ensure the center's long-term success.
