Breast cancer specialist Steven Poplack, MD, a professor of radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been named to the Ronald and Hanna Evens Endowed Chair in Women’s Health at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH).

Ira J. Kodner, MD, a pioneer in colon and rectal surgery and prominent medical ethicist, is the recipient of the 2018 President’s Achievement Award given by The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital.  In addition, an endowed fund has been established at the Foundation to honor Dr. Kodner and support education, research and advocacy in the field of surgical ethics.

When they discovered the volume of Alzheimer’s disease research taking place at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine, the Willmans were amazed. “We are so fortunate to be near the foremost centers for Alzheimer’s disease research,” Robert says. “Some of the most groundbreaking research is taking place right here, in our backyard.”
