We are proud to announce the distribution of $215,500 this August through the Foundation’s Community Support Grants Program. Because of visionary donors, we award these grants to local nonprofit organizations focused on reducing health care disparities; fostering strong community health care networks; promoting adult health, wellness, and disease prevention in the community; and providing quality health care education.

BJC Classic Drives Change

It was a beautiful day for philanthropy as golfers lined the fairways at Forest Park for the BJC Classic on October 6. In partnership with BJC Community Health Improvement and BJC IT, the golf tournament raised more than $155,000 to address health disparities in the City of St. Louis and North St. Louis County. 

Donor Gift Supports Women with Cancer

At the Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center, survivorship support is a critical part of treatment and recovery. On August 24, women with cancer participated in a Live Better Workshop with Chef Ryan Callahan, author of Cooking for Chemo. The event was funded through the generosity of Robert Ashton, who made this program possible with a generous gift to the Together Support Fund in memory of his wife Pauline.

 

Annual Flu Shot Clinic Turns 20

Thanks to generous donors, the Foundation has proudly funded BJC HealthCare’s annual free flu shot clinics for the past 20 years, amounting to more than 275,000 vaccines administered to St. Louis area residents. These clinics help prevent the spread of influenza, ease the strain on health care resources, reach underserved populations, and promote public health awareness.

Meet Harry Ratliff

Harry Ratliff has been a strong advocate for health care through volunteering and board memberships for over 20 years. He’s continuing this mission in his new position on the board of The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
