The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital is proud to announce the distribution of $174,100 to five nonprofit organizations this February through our Community Support Grants Program.
The five organizations that received grants in February are:
Support for improving health outcomes for adults with serious mental illnesses
Support for an education program that teaches disease self-management skills to improve health outcomes for seniors 55 years of age and older in St. Louis City and County
Support for the Fresh RX Community Nutrition Pilot Program aimed at improving nutrition intake and food security for seniors
Support for an integrated medical respite program for the unhoused, providing a safe and supportive environment while receiving necessary medical attention
Support to expand access to services such as routine physical and mental health care for unhoused families
The Foundation awards Community Support Grants four times throughout the year to local nonprofit organizations focused on reducing health care disparities; fostering strong community health care networks; promoting adult health, wellness, and disease prevention in the community; and providing quality health care education. Five endowed funds held at the Foundation support the program, ensuring investment in improving the health of our community is a priority. In 2023, the Foundation awarded 24 grants totaling more than $800,000.
Organizations may apply for a Community Support Grant through our Grant Opportunity Web Portal. Applications are accepted throughout the year and are reviewed quarterly.
